Before your Surgery

A few days before your procedure, you’ll be contacted by our office on at least two separate occasions by telephone. Please make sure we have the best numbers to reach you for these important calls.

  • Medical History Call –An ASCS nurse will call to discuss your medical history, your current list of medications and to determine what preliminary lab work needs to take place. Please feel free to ask any questions or concerns you may have regarding your health at this time and expect this conversation to take 15 minutes or more. If you have not received a call by a nurse by 12 noon the day prior to your procedure date, please call us at (864) 560-5800.

  • Pre-registration/Insurance Call–Our business office will contact you by phone before your surgery date to obtain and verify insurance information and to answer your billing questions. You’ll also receive in the mail pre-registration paperwork and a brochure that includes an explanation of our billing practices. We strongly recommend that you complete the paperwork before the day of your surgery. Any co-payments or uncovered fees will be required to be paid at that time.

  • Billing -You will receive one bill from that consolidates all ASCS fees and services. It will include the following items:
  • Reasons to Contact your Physician–Please contact your doctor if for any reason you cannot keep your scheduled appointment for surgery. Also if you experience any changes in your health such as a cough, fever or cold...or suspect you are pregnant, please notify your physician immediately.
